Almost everyone uses social media these days. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the like are household names for most people. People love to share things that they enjoy and feel good about with others. When the customers of your gym share pictures and experiences at your gym with others it is a form of free and influential advertising. This type of marketing content is called user-generated content (UGC), and you should be working to get customers to create as much of it as possible. Here are some reasons why you should encourage your users to generate content about your gym.

The Statistics

This first stat is sure to pique your interest; the TurnTo Network found that 90% of all consumers in the US find UGC to be the most influential when making purchasing decisions. This tells you that people are paying attention to what their friends, family, and acquaintances are doing. You want your users to show they are enjoying your space virtually.

When people see others that they personally know using a product or service they are more likely to use and trust the brand. As you can see in the image below UGC plays a significant role in user decisions as well as their overall reported experience.

Credibility and Customer Experience

As mentioned above, when people see others that they know benefiting from things they may be interested in doing they are more likely to choose the products their friends use over others. This occurs because people making decisions about products or services want to know they are going to have a good experience. When they see their friends having a good experience, they want the same for themselves.

This, in turn, enhances the new customer’s experience because when they come into your gym, they already have expectations. If you can meet and exceed those expectations, you may just have a new customer for life.

Free Marketing

There is nothing better than a free lunch; you savor every bite. For every minute of work, you put into your social media accounts you will be paid many times over. Encourage customers to interact with you on social media by tagging them in photos, liking their posts, or even holding photo contests.

When customers post photos of themselves in your gym with tags, you have access to new possible members. Businesses that run social media accounts for different amenity services will look into the demographics of your followers and tailor social media posts specific to their interests.

You gain exposure to the community as well as a list of new possible members. Using UGC will give you a leg up on the type of people you should be marketing to in addition to some free ad space.

Interacting with the Community

It is hard for small businesses to keep up with their communities. A gym should be part of the lifeblood of a community, where people interact and meet on a daily basis.

Your personal interaction with UGC and your customers will help to keep your finger on the pulse of the community. You will know what they need and be exposed to creative ways to get more of the community’s attention using UGC.

Increase Membership

UGC is a hands-on well-loved way to garner attention for your establishment. It is all in the statistics above. If you can generate quality UGC, people will be influenced to come and at least check out your fitness space.

Once you have new people in the door, it is up to you to get them excited about enrolling and coming back. In addition, customers that are influenced by UGC to join your fitness center are more likely to add to your treasure trove of UGC customers than ones attracted by a sign or coupon.

Using UGC will establish your credibility as a gym that people want to go to. It will solidify your place in the community. You will gain membership and free marketing from using it. Every penny and second spent on your social media accounts to gain UGC will benefit you greatly in the long run.

You may think purchasing home exercise equipment should be as straightforward as it sounds right? What could be so complicated about browsing through a catalogue and picking out a machine that promises to help you burn fat on your lower abdomen in thirty days? You think if you need to build muscles on your arms, then you need to get some dumbbells. As a matter of fact, the heavier, the better. On the contrary, this isn’t so. There is quite a variety of exercise equipment to choose from and with so much options out there, a lot of people have made the expensive mistake of buying what they do not actually need. So here is a run through of things you need to look out for when buying your dumbbells, cross-trainers and Bosu balls.

DUMBBELLS

Dumbbells are one of the cheapest gym equipment one can get for strength building and muscle building. They are very portable and quite easy to transport. Depending on what the target of your exercise is you will need to choose one that most fits what you aim to achieve. If you plan on building a lot of muscle then you need to look out for heavier and bigger dumbbells but if a lady doesn’t want to look muscular but probably just wants to tone flabby arms then she would be on the look-out for lighter dumbbells like the 5-10 pound weights. If you’re looking to be

Cap Dumbbells

economical but want to invest in dumbbells that the entire family can use, then you should probably be looking at an adjustable dumbbell kit that comes in stackable weights discs or plates. Secondly you want to make sure the grip feels right for you. If you have sweaty palms, it’s probably best if you got those with foam grips, otherwise you could just go ahead and test your grips on a few and pick whatever contours nicely or fits snugly into your palm so accidents are minimized.

CROSSTRAINERS

Life Fitness Cross Trainer

When buying cross trainers, you will want to make sure that you get one from a reputable brand. This is because these companies have spent money and time researching different ways to give you the right exercise equipment thatis safe yet very effective while generic brands do not really have customer satisfaction but profit maximization astheir end goal. Also make sure that you buy from a company that service their products in case you need to get an adjustment or replace worn out parts and of course you will also engages as many muscles as possible during your workout.

BOSU BALLS

There are basically two types; the Bosu Balance trainer and the Bosu Ballast ball. If you are a beginner, then you will want to start with the Bosu Ballast ball. It does not roll out of place so you do not have to struggle too much for balance. On the other hand the Bosu balance trainer was designed to take a lot of beating so if you are looking to work on your balance, engage in more core work, then the Bosu balance trainer is your best bet.

Some people dread the thought of including a fitness routine in to their already busy schedules. It can be a lot easier than it seems if you have the right information. You will find that this article will provide you with tips to help make fitness fit in to your daily life.

Although it may seem painful, it is important to to begin exercising a muscle injury as soon as you can. By not doing so, you are allowing other muscles to tighten up. You do not have to do any intense exercises. Go slowly and make sure to apply ice to the injured area when finished.

If you want great results when weight training, be sure that you are always switching up your techniques. Do not stick with the same few exercises. Even if you are targeting the same muscle group, you should try a different exercise, heavier or lighter weights or different intensity levels. This is how you can get the most out of your training.

Gyms

Good fitness is essential to your health. If you do not have a work out plan and are not fit you will find that you are more susceptible to becoming ill. You can find many books and articles on fitness and even places to go locally such as local gyms. Keeping fit will keep you busy and happy, and will make you look and feel better.

Fitness Centers

If the idea of regularly working out at a gym or health club leaves you with cold feet, look for recreational activities that are both, energizing and exciting. Rock climbing is becoming increasingly popular in local gyms and fitness centers and offers an excellent workout for the muscles in your arms, legs and back.

Hopefully you have found the information in this article to be helpful and useful so you can apply it to your everyday life. If you can find the time to put the tips in to action, you will find your fitness routine to be less of a burden and more fun.

When we get members at our health club who are new to our gym equipment, I often take them around to show them various exercises. This is especially true if they have any physical problems, such as bad knees, hips ,back etc. I usually go over things, such as proper form, motion, etc. I am inevitably then asked “How many repetitions do I do and at what weight setting?” I tell them what I learned from Doug Brooks, my favorite authority on weight training. I start at fifteen reps, picking a weight that will result in “volitional fatigue” after the last rep. This means they could do 5 or 6 more reps if they tried hard, but I suggest that they stop there. The client has to determine for his/herself what that weight is. If they think they could go on for another 10 or 15 reps, they aren’t using enough weight: if they have to struggle to complete number 15, they have too much weight. For the first week or two, I recommend only one set. As they get stronger, they can then add more weight and/or drop the number of reps and do more sets, up to 3. Little is gained by doing more than 3 sets for a particular muscle group. I rarely drop the number of reps below 10 for the average client. And I emphasize the basic rule that they only exercise the same muscle every other day. Remember, there are few limitations to weight training based on age or physical problems. You can work around and through almost anything.
